SMS Opt-In Evidence
Compliance reference for SMS aggregators and carrier reviewers. This page documents how OnCallGrid captures and stores SMS consent.
1. Where consent is captured
SMS consent is collected inside the OnCallGrid web application on the Add Technician screen, which administrators use to onboard a new technician to their organization. The phone number field and the SMS consent checkbox are adjacent on that form. The checkbox is unchecked by default; a technician's phone number is never enrolled in SMS dispatch notifications unless an administrator (or the technician themselves) explicitly checks the box.
2. Screenshot
The screenshots below show the exact Add Technician consent control as it appears in production — first in its default state, then after the user explicitly checks the box.

3. Exact consent control (live reproduction)
The non-functional control below is rendered from the same component and copy used on the Add Technician form. It is unchecked by default and submits no data.
Consent is not a condition of purchase or use of OnCallGrid services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for assistance.
4. What is stored
- The technician's phone number (E.164)
- Consent timestamp (UTC)
- Opt-in method (web form checkbox or inbound START keyword)
- Source page or inbound message reference
5. Inbound keyword opt-in
Technicians may also opt in by texting START to (678) 252-5355 and confirming with Y. The full conversational flow is documented in the Privacy Policy §3.1.
6. No third-party sharing
Mobile information, phone numbers, and SMS consent records are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing is limited to subcontractors strictly necessary for delivering the dispatch notification service (e.g., the SMS carrier).
